Aleksey Igudesman - Biography

Aleksey Igudesman was born in St Petersburg, Russia, and moved to Germany when he was six. At the age of twelve he was accepted into the 'Yehudi Menuhin School' where he studied violin and composition. From 1989 to 1998 he studied violin under Boris Kuschnir at the Vienna Conservatory and now continues to live in Vienna. Aleksey Igudesman has performed as soloist, conductor, chamber musician and actor all over the world. With his internationally acclaimed string trio 'Triology', he has also worked with guest artists such as Wolfgang Muthspiel, Julian Rachlin, Janine Jansen and Bobby McFerrin. His other projects include recording, composing, and arranging music for television and cinema as well as for several productions by the film maker Georg Riha and the Oscar-winning film composer Hans Zimmer. Aleksey’s works have been performed worldwide by numerous artists, ensembles and orchestras.
