Four-part flexible chamber music arrangements featuring a soloist
This year is Haydn year! 2009 is the 200th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn. The much loved Adagio from the Emperor Quartet coupled with the Prelude from Charpentier's Te Deum would make popular concert items. The pieces included have been selected by James Rae for their
suitability for young developing players. The scoring is flexible (the soloist in Part 1 for example could be for flute, oboe, violin, clarinet or alto saxophone)
and whilst written for a chamber group, more players could equally well join each part. An optional piano part has been included for rehearsal or to support the performance.
