This is the second part of a two-part course for beginner pianists, best suited to later teen and adults due to the quantity of wordy explanations. It is neatly divided into nine stages, which each introduce concepts such as semiquavers, Compound time signatures, pedalling and Alberti bass. In addition to some of his own compositions, Mike Cornick has made arrangements of popular classical music such as Martini's "Plaisir d'amour", a movement from Bachs Keyboard Concerto in F minor and the "Lacrimosa" from Mozarts Requiem, and these make up the bulk of the musical material in this tutorial. In short, this is a useful volume to advance Grade 2 pianists to Grade 3, and can be recommended for this purpose with confidence.
