The Leipzig Opera presents a new production of Kurt Weill’s Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny this Saturday.
Kerstin Polenske directs. Ulf Schirmer and William Lacey conduct.
The BBC has launched its programme for the 2012 Proms.
The music of Pierre Boulez is featured in a number of concerts, including Dérive 2, Messagesquisse, Anthèmes 2, and Le Marteau sans maître. Daniel Barenboim and Boulez himself conduct.
Schönberg’s Gurrelieder are conducted by Jiří Bělohlávek, with Angela Denoke and Simon O’Neill as the main soloists.
Look out also for Alban Berg’s Violin Concerto and Luciano Berio’s Sequenza V for trombone.

Wolfgang Rihm’s 1978 opera Jakob Lenz comes to the English National Opera in a new translation by Richard Stokes this Tuesday.
Sam Brown directs the new production at the Hampstead Theatre.

This Saturday, BBC Radio 3 broadcasts the complete recording of Luke Bedford’s opera Seven Angels (video intro here). Nicholas Collon conducts the BCMG in a production by the Opera Group directed by John Fulljames last summer.

John Adams conducts Arvo Pärt’s Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten with the Los Angeles Philharmonic tonight.
The programme also includes Adams’ own Violin Concerto (with Leila Josefowicz as the soloist) and the US West-Coast première of Philip Glass’ Symphony No. 9.
