Work introduction
Tutuguri II and IV are part of a cycle of compositions inspired by Artaud's poem “Tutuguri”. The complete cycle is a kind of dance poem and was realised for the first time as a ballet at the Deutschen in Berlin in November 1 982. The poem is planned in all seven parts as a ritual existing in the imagination, and is therefore not to be understood in the sense of a real drama flowing straightfrom the beginning to end.
