Wunderbare Leiden: World première of Victoria Borisova-Ollas' new work in Düsseldorf
Tonhalle Düsseldorf
Victoria Borisova-Ollas’ new work, Wunderbare Leiden, for two pianos and orchestra, is a “fantasy on themes by Robert und Clara Schumann”, and will be given its world première in Düsseldorf on 8 Oct. Andrey Boreyko conducts Ewa Kupiec (pno), Vardan Mamikonian (pno) and the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, who commissioned the work as part of their Schumann2010 celebrations. Further performances will be held on 10 and 11 Oct.
