The Nederlandse Opera, Amsterdam, is giving a new production of Franz Schreker's opera Der Schatzgräber (“The Treasure-Seeker“), directed by Ivo van Hove. Première is on 1 September 2012.

From 12 Jan on Kurt Weill's opera Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny can be seen at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv. Afterwards it will be performed for the first time at the Vienna State Opera (première: 24 Jan).
