On 7 June the Contempoartensemble celebrates its 20th anniversary. For this occasion Mauricio Sotelo has written Cripta – Música para Manuel de Falla for ensemble and electronics.
As part of the Manifeste Festival in Paris, Le Voyage, the new work by Johannes Maria Staud, will be premiered on 2 June by soloists from the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the vocal ensemble Les Cris de Paris.
Klang-Muro ... II, the new ensemble work by Mauricio Sotelo will receive its world première on 29 May. Jordi Bernàcer conducts the Grup Instrumental de València.
Eberhard Kloke has created a reduced version of Alban Berg’s Lulu for chamber orchestra. The world première of the new version takes place this May at the City Theatre in Gießen.
The Aspekte Festival in Salzburg celebrates its 35th anniversary this year (9–13 May).
Colin Matthews was commissioned by Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé Orchestra to arrange the first movement of the Lied von der Erde. The premiere of this version of the first movement will take place on 10 May.
