In den Hinweisen zur Interpretation erläutert der Herausgeber die Mozartschen Interpretationszeichen und vereint damit an zentraler Stelle, was sonst aus verstreuten Artikeln mühsam zusammengetragen werden müsste: Artikulationszeichen wie Bogen, Punkt und Strich, Appoggiaturen, vor allem aber Mozarts Bezeichnungen für Dynamik, wobei es dem Herausgeber gelingt, erstmals eine Art "System" zu entdecken, nach welchem Mozart augenscheinlich die Zeichen gesetzt hat und welches, über die zu klärende Bedeutung hinaus (Marguerre unterscheidet zwischen Zeichen, die lediglich "Registerwechsel", und solchen, die Nuancen andeuten), auch noch agogische Nuancen intendiert.
