Biography
Artist Henri Selmer Paris and BG France, Giuseppe Laterza is part of a generation of saxophonists driven by curiosity and the desire to develop the potential of their instrument. After graduating with top marks from the E.R. Duni Conservatory in Matera with Maestro Vito Soranno, he moved to France to study with Maestro Jean-Yves Fourmeau at the Cergy Pontoise Conservatory and at the Versailles Conservatory with Maestro Vincent David, where he was unanimously awarded the Prix de Saxophone and the Saxophone Master's degree. A finalist in numerous competitions, Giuseppe has won twelve first prizes, both national and international. A founding member of the Jeune Saxophone Quartet and the Ensemble Exigentia, he is dedicated to new compositions and he is the organiser of the Exigentia International Saxophone Competition. "A 'Certificateur qualité' of the Henri Selmer Paris house until 2016, he holds the alto saxophone position in the Italian Air Force band.

My music writing is directed above all at the listener. Driven by curiosity and the desire to develop the saxophone repertoire, I try to bring the saxophone as close as possible to the other instruments of the classical tradition with my modern-style writing.
