Biography
Mohammadreza Azin was born in 1980 in Tehran. After completing a bachelor's degree in Music at Soore University and a master's degree in composition at the University of Art in Tehran (with Professor Ahmad Pejman and Professor Talibhon Shakhidi), Azin was a lecturer in Composition and Music Theory from 2008-2015 at Tehran Art University. In 2017 he completed his postgraduate studies in composition at the University of Performing Arts in Vienna under Professor Detlev Müller-Siemens. His composition "Reverie" was selected and premiered in 2016 for Karl Schiske's jubilee concert on the occasion of the 100th birthday. In 2018, besides "Lichtstrahl", two more works by Azin "Freiheit der Klänge" and "Grenzenlos" were performed at the Festival Wien Modern. The works of Mohammadreza Azin are inspired by mental images, philosophical questions, the secrets of nature, symmetries, and regularities, which are analyzed and deconstructed, to create something new out of the components.
