Works by Victor Ibarra
Biography
Victor Ibarra is of Mexican origin and received rich musical training in
his own country as well as in France and Switzerland with well-known musicians
such as José Luis Castillo, Edith Lejet and Michael Jarrell.
He was awarded first place in the Alea III competition in the United
States, first place in the Auditorio Nacional de España competition and
received the Zeitklang award in Austria. He regularly attends the performances
of his own works, which have been interpreted by renowned international
ensembles. He has completed his Master’s Degree in Composition at the
Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et danse in Lyon.
In 2013, Victor Ibarra won the Mauricio Kagel Composition Competition (K2013)
with his piano piece Cuatro observaciones
sobre lo imaginario.
