Chiahu 'Chia-Chia' Lee, a Luxembourg-born pianist, began her musical journey at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, excelling further at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). She graduated with distinction and received multiple prestigious awards, including the Stephen Bell Award, the William Humphreys Dayas Prize, the Helen Porthouse Prize, the Pinson/Pierce Award for Bach performance, and third prize in the RNCM Recital Prize. Chiahu was also a finalist in the RNCM Schubert Prize, the Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias Piano Festival, and the Lions Club International European Music Competition. Beyond her musical accolades, Chiahu is dedicated to philanthropy through her nonprofit, Fingertips ASBL, which has raised over 26,000 Euros for various causes. Her focus on promoting works from the last 20 years by contemporary women composers, along with projects like 'Medtness' and 'Festreeval,' combines music with social activism and underscores her commitment to community engagement.
Chiahu Lee's composition style is characterised by an innovative fusion of genres, blending classical elements with modern musical expressions. In her notable work "(ré)inventions à deux pianos," Lee reimagines J.S. Bach's "15 two-part inventions" into a cohesive blend of pop, minimalism, and smooth jazz.
