This spring, another new edition of Alban Berg's historical-critical complete edition, the Critical Edition of the opera Wozzeck, has been published. This important music theatre work of the early 20th century thus joins the ranks of works that best reflect the composer's intention through the Complete Edition. This new volume was presented on 29 March 2023 by the President of the Alban Berg Foundation, Dr Maximilian Eiselsberg, and handed over to the Director of the Vienna State Opera, Dr Bogdan Roščić.

This edition takes into account the changes Berg made to the work after the Vienna premiere in 1930 and reproduces them in coloured typesetting. It also includes a highlighting of the chamber music ensembles. The edition is not yet commercially available, but will be available for two years only to subscribers.
