Work introduction
These six melodies, which constitute a whole, are a tribute to Lebanon and its culture. Written on poems by Alexandre Najjar, they are characterized by a vocal line conceived in strict respect of French prosody and musical curves following the inflections of the spoken language. These love poems, which become love songs through musical transposition, exist in two versions: voice and piano, and voice and orchestra. The work is dedicated to Naji Hakim as a token of respect and gratitude.

Poetry is undoubtedly the literary genre best suited to the feeling of love. And love is always magnified, sublimated, by poetic expression. But writing love poems is not easy. You have to avoid repetition, go straight to the heart of the reader, without convolutedness or sentimentality. Set to music, the poems are transformed, become more ethereal, more elusive, more touching too. Carried by the melodies of the talented Nicolas Chevereau, these Six Love Songs, both simple and authentic, are odes to give glory to Love and to the beloved.
