Call for Scores: Moliner Percussion Workshop 2024
Following the success of Moliner's last mentoring programme in 2023, we are pleased to announce the latest workshop for multi-percussion works led by composer and percussion soloist David Moliner!
This new workshop is once again aimed at advanced and aspiring composers looking to enhance their skills in the field of percussion instruments.
Under the guidance of UE composer David Moliner, participants will focus on multi-percussive notation and create a new work, premiering at the Elbphilharmonie in December 2026, inspired by the percussion music of Iannis Xenakis.
Nine composers will be selected for monthly online meetups and a collective meeting in the halls of the Vienna Musikverein to promote professional networking. Two composers will have the opportunity to publish their works for free with Universal Edition!
The programme runs from October 2024 to August 2025, with a concert date at the Elbphilharmonie to be announced. Up to three composers will have the chance to receive a financially supported commission to create marimba solo works for the 2026-2027 season at the one and only Carnegie Hall.
