Rosenstock was appointed Music Director in Mannheim in 1930; he was dismissed in 1933 due to his Jewish lineage. He conducted the NHK Symphony in Tokyo and, later, the Nippon Philharmonic Orchestra, before travelling on to the USA in 1946.
