COVID-19 Update

Dear customers, we would like to inform you that due to the current situation concerning the novel corona virus, exit restrictions have been imposed in Austria. Luciano Berio: Gesti

  • for treble recorder
  • Duration: 5’
  • Composer: Luciano Berio
  • Dedication: for Frans Brueggen

Work introduction

Gesti calls for (almost literally) breathtaking virtuosity – fingers, tongue and respiration must be skilfully coordinated. The instrumental sounds, combined over and over with the flutist’s voice, occasionally have a humorous effect, such as when the flute suggests a bird gone mad; in the final section, we hear that the instrument can sing, as well.
