World premiere of Victoria Borisova-Ollas' new cello concerto

Victoria Borisova-Ollas' new cello concerto Oh Giselle, Remember Me ... composed for the Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk, is based on the tragic story of the famous ballet Giselle by Adolphe Adam.

The romantic ballet tells the fate of the Willis - young women who died before their wedding and who, as ghosts, plunge innocent men to their deaths. Through a mix-up the young Giselle dies, is accepted into their circle and has to live a life without love and in eternal damnation. She manages to protect her lover Albrecht from the Willis and save his life.

Oh Giselle, Remember Me ... is the second solo concerto by Victoria Borisova-Ollas which is inspired by a ballet. The premiere will take place on 15 November 2019 with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Cristian Măcelaru in the Berwaldhallen in Stockholm.
