BBC Proms presents Leoš Janáček's ‘Glagolitic Mass’

Reading time: 1 min. Leoš Janáček Glagolitische Messe BBC

Friday 19 July 2019: BBC proms presents ‘Prom 1: First Night of the Proms’ in London's Royal Albert Hall with Leoš Janáček's Glagolitic Mass (Mša glagolskaja) in the second part. The conductor of the evening will be Karina Canellakis from the USA.

Distancing himself from all of the well trodden paths of the traditional genre, Janáček created a piece of sacred music that is so unique, it begs the question of whether it can be categorised as such at all.
