Nargenfestival: Arvo Pärt Days 2016

Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten (c) Universal EditionThe Nargenfestival’s Arvo Pärt Days 2016 take place from 2 to 11 September in Tallinn, Tartu, Paide and Rakvere.

The festival opens on 2 September in Tallinn with the Estonian première of Arvo Pärt’s Greater Antiphons for string orchestra.

Conductor and festival fonder Tõnu Kaljuste dedicates a birthday concert to Arvo Pärt on 11 September, which is the composer’s 81st birthday and also the final day of the festival.

Violinist Harry Traksmann, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will perform Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten, Magnificat, Fratres and Te Deum at the St. John’s Church in Tallinn.
