Ö1 Talentebörse composition prize 2014

Juan de Dios Magdaleno is the winner of the Ö1 Talentebörse composition prize 2014. The Mexican composer was born in 1984 in Colima, and currently pursues a Master’s degree in Composition under Gerd Kühr at the University of Music and Arts in Graz.

The annual composition award, which is endowed with 10.000 Euro and was given for the fourth time by Ö1, the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) and Universal Edition, is offered to students of composition of the five Austrian universities of Vienna, Linz, Salzburg and Graz. Universal Edition will publish an upcoming work by Juan de Dios Magdaleno.

Alejandro del Valle-Lattanzio is the winner of last year’s the Ö1 Talentebörse composition prize, Flügelbrausend for marimba, flute, clarinet, violin, violoncello and electric guitar is published by Universal Edition.
