The new chamber orchestra version by Anton Weberns Im Sommerwind will be premièred under Peter Keuschnig on 04 March in Musikverein.
"I have arranged Anton Webern's Idyll Im Sommerwind for the ensemble Kontrapunkte for chamber orchestra. Since this concert with Bartók's Divertimento already featured a string instrumentation of 184.108.40.206.2, I also chose this string instrumentation because as much as possible of Webern's dazzling original could be captured. In addition there is a wind instrumentation of flute, oboe, 2 clarinets, bassoon, 2 horns, trumpet, trombone - as well as timpani, harp and piano. The work, originally composed for a very large orchestra (e.g. 6 horns), is now accessible to chamber orchestras." (Roland Freisitzer)
