Reading time: 2 min. Wiener Urtext Edition

About the Event

On March 27, 2019 Wiener Urtext Edition presented its cooperation with the Japanese company GVIDO MUSIC and introduced the world's first dual screen digital music score device called GVIDO to the Austrian music world. The following artists demonstrated the practical use of the device live at Mozarthaus Vienna with works from the repertoire of the Wiener Urtext Edition:

Erika Spring (Piano) – W.A. Mozart Sonata for piano A major KV 331
Arabella Steinbacher (Violin) and Robert Kulek (Piano) – W.A. Mozart Sonata for piano and violin G major KV 301

Kiyoshi Koinuma, ambassador of Japan, pointed out the importance of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and Japan in his welcoming speech.
Dr. Jochen Reutter, editor-in-chief of Wiener Urtext Edition, told the audience how this publishing house has made a name for itself as a forward-looking publisher of scholarly and informative urtext performing editions, ever since its founding in 1972.
Ryoichi Sirayanagi, COO of Europe and USA of GVIDO MUSIC, explained the possibilities that the use of GVIDO offers and answered questions from the audience.
The event was hosted by Wolfgang Schaufler (Universal Edition).
