World premiere: Schubert's Symphony No. 7 now finished

Who doesn't know the hypnotic opening melody from Franz Schubert's legendary Symphony No. 7 in B minor, which the composer left us as a fragment? Now Mario Venzago, principal conductor and artistic director of the Bern Symphony Orchestra, took up the challenge of completing it. With his first UE publication he finishes a version in traditionally four movements with the help of Schubert's sketches. Nevertheless, Venzago is convinced that the composer himself completed his symphony at the time, and that the missing parts had simply been lost.

The world premiere of the ‘Finished’ will take place on 9 October, 2019, in the Aula der Neuen Universität in Heidelberg. In addition, Franz Liszt's Les Préludes and Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.3 in C minor op. 37 will be on the program, which will be repeated the following day. We warmly welcome Mario Venzago to our publishing house.
