On 28 April a new production of The Threepenny Opera opens at the Staatsoperette Dresden. Christian Garbosnik conducts Sebastian Ritschel’s production, which is scheduled to run until 13 July.

Luke Bedford’s Faraway Canons for bass drum and piano will receive its world première on 21 April at the Occupy the Pianos Festival in London. The work will be performed by the piano and percussion duo George Barton and Siwan Rhys.
The reduced version of Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 will receive its Dutch première on 19 April at the TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. Ulrich Pöhl conducts the Insomnio Ensemble.
