All together easy Ensemble! is a series of flexible arrangements for students venturing forth into ensemble playing for the first time. These well-known pieces are suitable for beginning performers. Since this is an important step in the development of many young musicians, arranger James Rae makes sure that all parts are important and integral and that all lines lie comfortably on the instrument.
An optional piano part is included, to enhance the ensemble if necessary, and parts are included for a wide range of instrumentations. Shostakovich's stirring Waltz No. 2 will be thoroughly enjoyed by players and audiences alike and, together with the much-quoted La donna è mobile, the traditional American song Yankee Doodle and James Rae's own Cha-Cha Cubano, makes a contrasting assortment of possibilities for the next school concert.
This is a welcome addition to the previous volumes of All Together Easy Ensemble! Whilst part 1 contains most of the melodic interest everybody gets a chance to shine as well as have an opportunity to provide the accompaniment, thereby learning all the basic aspects of ensemble playing. James Rae has produced another winning quartet of excellent arranged and written works, designed to be easy overall but with enough challenge to make them enjoyable to work on.
