Description
The title of this work for violoncello solo originates from DE AMORE, a commentary on Plato's "Symposium", by the Florentine artist Marsilio Ficino (1433-1499=. This document characterises the beginning of the genre of treatises about love and beauty - which had their prime during the "cinquecento" (16th century) - and represents the iconographical basis for the works of many Renaissance artists, such as Boticelli, Michelangelo, Rafael or Tizian.
To this pentagram descends like an angel of light the vibrating and intensive image of my daughter's birth to whom - with infinite love - this score is dedicated: a pulsating microtonal tissue with sudden periodic outbursts of overtones. Heartbeat of beginning life. Ardent birth of love and light: De amore.
