About the music
Brought up surrounded by both classical and jazz, Lucy developed a unique composing style, holding loyalties to both genres. Lucy has travelled to Havana (Cuba) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) to learn specific musical elements and history from both of these musically rich cities, incorporating samba, Bossa nova, Pagode, Salsa, Timba or Songo into her percussive compositions.
A friend of Lucy's with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome asked her to write a piece to accompany her morning yoga. She has to do yoga for her blood circulation, otherwise she feels very ill. Lucy then wrote Golden Meadows, which would be the first piece in her healing music series. After this experience, she wrote more healing pieces for friends, in order to help with conditions like OCD, Insomnia or anxiety, to name a few.
Lucy's writing style stretches widely, from solo percussion works to writing opera or large-scale orchestral works.
