Biography
Luis Rosalebron was born in Aguadilla Puerto Rico in 1971 to a family of amateur musicians and music lovers. His father was a heavy machinery operator, inventor and clarinetist. In 1993 received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Puerto Rico. In 1994 he joined the United States Army Band system as keyboard player. In 2007 he graduated with a Masters degree in Piano Pedagogy. Mr. Rosalebron is an avid collector of fine musical instruments and music-related memorabilia. He is also an expert piano historian as well as a reputable piano restorer.
He spends most of his time composing, reading, collecting historical music-related ephemerals, studying violin and collaborating with college-level students. Mr. Rosalebron's favorite composers are Johannes Brahms, Kurt Weill, Ernst Töch, Juan Morel Campos, Beethoven, Bach and Camilo Sivori.
About the music
Mr. Rosalebron is known for his innovative composition styles which juxtapose Classical, Caribbean, Jazz, and Folk ideas. He explores compositional techniques based on onomatopoeias. Rosalebron’s signature compositional language creates a sense of being suspended in melancholy, glimpsing a timeless infinity of happiness while simultaneously in sorrow.
