Biography
I have been composing since I can reasonably master the piano. I wrote the first music notes onto the paper when I was 10-12 years old. At that time I was writing small piano pieces (melodies, fantasies) that I still like to play today. I've always dealt with music in some way, even though I wasn't in a music-related profession; e.g. I made music with my children (2 have become music teachers) and formed a quartet with them ; I founded a music school that accepted more and more students and is still in operation today ; I started to have some of my works recorded by soloists or professional orchestra musicians; etc. Now I can devote more time to music and the projects are not missing : make new audio or video recordings, look for an amateur orchestra that could perform my concert fantasy for piano and orchestra, publish my sheet music… I have been a member of SACEM since 1976.
About the music
Neoclassical music characterized by elegant melodies, touching expressiveness and relaxing serenity, although some of the more dynamic pieces feature jazz-influenced rhythms.
Among the works I have composed there is a modern opera based on a novel by Balzac, chamber music (trios, quintets, sextets), poems set to music, small instrumental lesson pieces for piano or for violin and piano, clarinet and piano ..., impromptus and rhapsodies for piano, a fantasy concert in 4 movements for piano and orchestra, etc.
A few years ago I put the music recordings together on a website (which is much visited today) - together with pictures of my other passion, blue water sailing, to which I get back when music becomes less demanding : https://www.uneinvitationauvoyage.eu
