Work introduction
From a long time I wanted to write love songs. So, I decided to set in music these three Shakespeare’s Sonnets. The first of these works uses a homorhythmic writing that is usually used in chorales. So, it represents the sacredness of a pure love. The second Sonnet is divided in two sections: the first one in a declamating writing and the second one which gives priority to a melody. The first section is a sort of prayer, the second one is an affectionate and kind love. In the third Sonnet, love is a sort of spiritual and physical need. So, in a sense music becomes almost more human.
These three Sonnets requires a very pure sound like in the best english choral tradition.
