Work introduction
Xodus Hymn was commissioned to serve as a part of Martin Fröst's new grand mixed-media piece "Xodus". Embedded between balkan folklore works Xodus Hymn is an eclectic journey into and out of the hymn, written by Jesper Waldersten.
The piece is part of two premieres in Sweden, one in Örebro as part of Exit performed by the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Swedish Radio Choir end of April, and one in Stockholm as part of Xodus performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Eric Ericsons Choir beginning of May.
