Work introduction
The concerto for viola, string orchestra and timpani was composed in 2005 and revised in 2021 for musicians and all fans of this superb instrument.
The concert is divided into three movements: I SAKURA, II CELVM STELLATVM, III CAERIMONIALIS.
I SAKURA - In the Japanese language they are the marvelous blossoms of the cherry tree, therefore they represent spring in all its splendor.
II CELVM STELLATVM - A stellar dance, a tribute to Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy where the stars illuminate us and guide us on our path.
III CAERIMONIALIS - This is the musical description of a magical ritual.
With the dimensions of a baroque concert, this music aims at the search for beauty, marrying the definition of the Italian architect, humanist and mathematician Leon Battista Alberti
“ Beauty: The adjustment of all parts proportionately so that one cannot add or subtract or change without impairing the harmony of the whole “.
