Description
This is a Tango for Alto Saxophone and Piano based on a set of variations from Franz Joseph Haydn's piano sonata in Eb major (final movement).
I “deranged” the Presto of Haydn’s work and turned it into a Latin American Tango to emphasize the intentionally jovial nature of the music.
The Tango was first performed by Kenneth Radnofsky (sax) and John McDonald (piano) on April 29th, 2007 at a LUMEN Contemporary Music Concert in Boston, MA (USA).
