Description
The composition follows a poem by Rolf Hochhuth dedicated to Johanna Binger - Hochhuth. The song substitutes a floral donation on the occasion of the funeral service for the writer, who died on 13 May 2020.
The term donatiale certainly requires explanation: on special holidays, it is not only permissible but also morally appropriate to manifest one's affection and appreciation with a donatiale. A donatiale is a benefit in kind, which may also be of monetary value, but which is not effective for tax purposes. If the gift is of a musical nature, it is usually referred to disparagingly as an occasional composition. The author of the pieces presented here has written a series of such chamber music, which is made visible and generally accessible here as a collection.
