Biography
I was born on 14 May 1969 in Starnberg. Only 2 years later my parents moved to Eggenfelden (Niederbayern), where I attended the Karl-von-Closen Gymnasium.
From 1992 until the master's death, I belonged to the Munich circle of students of the conductor Sergiu Celibidache.
In addition, I trained as a piano teacher at the Meistersingerkonservatorium in Nuremberg.
Later private vocal training with Yoed Sorek (now Hanover).
I live in the south-west of Munich and am engaged in a diverse kind of pedagogical work there (piano students, opera and operetta performances with with children and young people, etc.).
About the music
My compositional activity can be divided into three areas:
1. Pedagogical Works
Due to my many years of pedagogical work, it is inevitable that a significant part of my pieces are from this area. These are written from practice for practice and should all be easily doable for the target group.
First of all, of course, there is the
- Piano school (all ages)
Then a whole series of musical theatre works, from the children's musical to the children's opera.
- Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten (Town Musicians of Bremen - German text only) children's musical for primary school children with piano or guitar (20 min.)
- Tobias (German text only) Singspiel, so from 4th grade with piano or small orchestra (60 min.)
- Orken im Zauberwald (Orken in the Enchanted Forest - German text only ) Children's opera for children from 5th grade with piano or small orchestra.
This piece is also very suitable for theatre. (60 min.)
2. Works with traditional techniques
These are also feasible for good amateurs.
- Peace Mass This should not be a big problem for experienced choirs. It is written for 6-part choir, 2 solosists (sopr, bar), organ (40 min.)
- Frauenliebe und -leben This song cycle is about the same difficulty as another composer's version in terms of demand and voice (piano is a bit more difficult). Oh, I'm afraid my story unfortunately doesn't end too happy either. (40 min.)
- 3 Songs on poems by Wolfgang Borchert (5 min.)
3. Works with extended techniques, especially with the use of quarter tones
- ERSTARRT Song cycle for medium voice (other voices on request) with piano and harp (1/4 tone lower). The piano part contains extended playing techniques, the vocal part quarter tones (20 min.)
- Stalingrad for string orchestra, quarter + sixth notes, otherwise traditional (7 min.)
- Trauermarsch (Funeral March) for large orchestra, some quarter tones, otherwise traditional. Arrangement for smaller ensembles on request (7 min.)
- Human rights for 12-part choir, some quarter tones (22 min.)
- Der Fliehende A very emotional chamber opera for 5 singers and 16 strings + trumpet. The string parts contain a variety of modern playing techniques (120 min.)
