Work introduction
"Two Pieces" consists of two compositions for solo flute on the nature theme and climate change.
The first movement is titled "Gaea" (Mother Earth) which is, according to Greek mythology, the goddess who is the impersonation of the earth. The movement contains moments of quiet alternating with agitated moments which represent extreme meteorological phenomena, induced by climate change, we have been witnessing in recent years. The second movement "Autumn Storm" describes even better the vehemence of these events, it represents a typical autumn day characterized by extreme thunderstorms caused by the high and anomalous temperatures of the season.
