A Serene Music, for solo clarinet or bass clarinetType: Noten
A Serene Music was created to provide a few moments of profound calm for the performer and for the listener. It lives within the lower half of the dynamic spectrum, never raising its voice. Even the relative allegro passages should be relaxed and flowing, never overtly virtuosic. The rhythm should be somewhat flexible throughout, more so in the slower passages.
It was written for the composer's long-time friend and colleague, Julia Heinen, who has performed it numerous times, including a recent video performance for ClarinetFest 2021, the annual convention of the International Clarinet Association (link provided).
