Work introduction
The composition "A mani unite" for cellos quartet is inspired by the painful war that the Ukrainian people are fighting for the defense of freedom and democracy, a war that we live with great closeness and suffering. The title "A mani unite" has a double meaning: it indicates the "joined hands" in an attitude and spirit of prayer for Peace, at the same time it indicates all the hands that in this period shake each other to form a human chain through a continuous band of long sounds that are gradually transformed.
The compositional work is divided into three parts: in the first the sound band representing the "human chain" is presented by the third and fourth cello, shaken from time to time by tight and metallic tremolo chords that resonate almost like an "omen" for then create a softer and more linear section; in the second part the continuous band of sounds is presented by the first and second cello, here everything presses in a contrapuntal way until the tension on an intense "forte" is reached; in the last part everything is fragmented, interrupted by frequent pauses (almost "laments", "tears" ...) which through ethereal harmonic sounds suspend us in the air, as if between flashes of light!
