Due to the repetitiveness of the music material the composition was named Actum agere – Latin, “to do what has (already) been done”. But since each moment in time is unrepeatable and since we can never do exactly the same thing again, in this piece no music phrase is identical repetition of the previous – making therefore its title slightly imperfect.
The usual minimum of players is 4-4-3-2-1.
