Work introduction
Ave Regina caelorum is based on a poem by Christina Rossetti and on a Marian antiphon. The use of the harmonic syntax along with the polyphonic one, massive sound aggregates along with ephemeral whispered sounds, immobile drones along with sections in which the rhythm of the harmonic changes is alert, wants to create an amorphous state, in which the profound meaning of Rossetti's poem is revealed.
The first public presentation of the work took place during the International Timisoara Music Festival with VOCES TIMISIENSES ensemble conducted by Lucian Onita.
