Work introduction
Finding myself visiting the city of Cosenza in southern Italy, I was lost listening to a practically incomprehensible dialect. I was enraptured by the sounds of this language and decided to compose a work that would remind me of this unique sensation. So I decided that I wanted to compose an opera for soprano and string orchestra with all the first parts with solos, as had happened many centuries before with the Concerto Grosso in Venice. An instrumental string ensemble full of many small and large nuances.
