Work introduction
With 'Drehwurm' Max Doehlemann who, in addition to his activities as a classical composer is also a jazz pianist, presents a 'Jazz Waltz' for Cello and Piano. The basis for this is a simple, slightly melancholic melody that is then subjected to variations as it is thrown back and forth between the two instruments. From this there develops and emerges a charming and very original performance piece.
The work is dedicated to the cellist Ekaterina Gorynina.
