Work introduction
The piece has two main poles: the first is slow, sober and heavy in quadratic style [4/4], while the other one is dancing, light and delicate in ¾ waltz style – the whole work has a ….flair of second Viennese School too! It is written in free atonal style though, declaring this juxtaposition. The piece was written for clarinet and piano, and later re-arranged for recorder and piano.
