Four invisible cities
Duration: 9'
Solos:
guitar
Looking through Italo Calvino’s Invisible cities, I stopped at four imaginary cities, trying to find their sound equivalents: Eufemia, Octavia, Bauci and Leandra. The Oriental air of Euphemia has been translated into a sonic language based on an exotic mode, Octavia has an unstable character, with an interrupted musical discourse; Bauci is based on a melodic movement with gentle contours, and in Leandra the joking character predominates, this part including elements of instrumental theater. Four invisible cities was dedicated to the Costin Soare, who performed the piece for the first time during the International Guitar Nights Festival in 2016.
