Rodrigo Ruiz
Intermezzo
Duration: 6'
Solos:
piano
This early work for solo piano is a nostalgic look and respectful homage to the late piano works of Johannes Brahms. Despite this being composer Rodrigo Ruiz's second ever work, he manages to find his own language in the expressive world of tonal music. An early version of the work was featured in An Everlasting Dawn (2017) where Alison Farr's subtle touch added its magic to the music. The revisions made by the composer during October 2022 (now reflected in this publication) render the Intermezzo even more rewarding for both pianist and audience.
