Work introduction
Performed as a world première at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and afterwards at the Bozar in Brussels in the 2017 season.
Performer: EMC (Contemporary Music Ensemble) of the Palermo Conservatory of Music Alessandro Scarlatti.
Director: M° Fabio Correnti.
Introspezione is inspired by the "Grande Cretto di Burri", a gorgeous land / art piece created by Alberto Burri (Italian artist, painter and doctor) between 1984 and 1989 in the same place where it was settled the old town of Gibellina "Sicily" , destroyed during the earthquake in 1968. The whole composition is accompanied of concrete music elements, that gives it a colourful effect full of rich impressionist touches.
The continuous change of sound effects and the succession of harmonic-tone intuitions takes a decisive aesthetic-dramaturgical mark, replacing the traditional reason-thematic formulation.
