Work introduction
Inspired by the numerous composers of the past, who have generously given students of the cello such a rich repertoire of easy-to-intermediate level pieces for cello and piano, this collection is for “young” cellists of all ages.
In terms of technical level, none of the pieces exceeds fourth position plus the octave harmonic. The very first piece is completely in first position. Most are loosely patterned after standard repertoire pieces, such as the nocturne, barcarolle, etc.
