Work introduction
Composer´s notes
The idea for the composition Néome came from Enjott Schneider, who asked me to write a piece inspired by Beethoven's song "Sehnsucht".
Néome comes from the Greek verb ???u??, which means "I'm coming back". Figuratively, it can also mean that the inner path of longing is also a kind of coming back.
The trio is composed in four parts, which are played one after the other without a break. The idea of the composition is based on the slow development of a tonal density that unites all three players in the middle, only to depart from that on with the same musical element.
The players are united on the one hand by the impulse of the slow tempo and on the other hand by the three voices, which are largely played contrapuntally but also repeatedly synchronous. The piano part is a doubling and at the same time an echo of the vibraphone. The pianist plays small percussion instruments parallel to the piano, commenting as an echo the musical action that was just being played. Both instruments play at the beginning a prologue until the clarinet player starts to play his part.
The individual sounds of the three players unfold increasingly in the first three parts of the composition, unite in the fourth part and then strive apart to the end. The sound of the waterphone in the last bar leads to the open end of the composition.
